I always knew I wanted to live abroad and do things differently than the traditional path. That’s how I ended up moving to Portugal 6 years ago. And for most of the time, I thought I made it.
I had a well-paying remote job that allowed me to live in Portugal, surf during work breaks and travel a couple of weeks per year. From the outside, it looked like the perfect life. But inside, I felt stuck — still living by a 9–5 schedule, still working for someone else’s dream.
I realised: this isn’t freedom and it’s not the healthy surf lifestyle that I desired. It’s just a tropical version of the rat race. I knew there’s gotta be more to life than following this script until retirement. More freedom, more independence, simply more LIFE.
When I felt the pull to build my own income, the doubts were loud: Who am I to do this? Do I have what it takes? What if I fail? What will people think?
Taking action despite my fears and doubts took me where I am today. Having a clear pathway to break free from employment and build a life on my own terms: intentional mornings, time to surf whenever I want & wherever I want, all while making my health a priority.
